Stranger Danger

My sister recently had a talk with my four-year-old nephew Jack about strangers. Here's how it went:

SISTER: Now, Jack, if a stranger says, "Come here, I want to show you something," what do you do?

JACK: I turn around and run!

SISTER: If a stranger says, "Come here, I want to give you some candy," what do you do?

JACK: I turn around and run!

SISTER: If a stranger says, "Come here, I want to show you my puppy," what do you do?

JACK: Oh, I love puppies...

It?s A Girl For Kimberly Stewart!

Kimberly Stewart has given birth to a baby girl today in Los Angeles. In case you didn’t know, Benicio del Toro is the baby daddy, although the two are not together. I wonder how Grandpa Rod is doing right about now? No doubt beaming with pride after becoming a grandparent for the first time. At the same time it was announced that Kimberly was pregnant back in April, it was revealed who the baby daddy was. Wow. Benicio del Toro was the father. It was a surprise to many, as they kept their fling under wraps and were never photographed together. Del Toro’s rep confirmed at the time, ‘Kimberly is pregnant. Benicio is the father and is very supportive. Although they are not a couple, they are looking forward to the arrival of the baby.’ This is the first child for both. Kimberly was previously engaged to Cisco Adler in the early part of 2005, but a few months later the two would go their separate ways. She started dating Laguna Beach star Talan Torriero in November of that same year, with the reality star proposing to her after a whirlwind romance, but she felt it was too soon and [...]

During "MTV First: Lady Gaga" on Thursday night (August 18), the Mother Monster, joined by a sea of her fans in Times Square, announced that she has the coveted spot of opening the 2011 Video Music Awards.

The Little Monsters, right in the center of the hustle and bustle of Times Square, unfurled a banner that read, "GAGA TO OPEN VMAs!!!," revealing that Lady Gaga would have the distinction of kicking off the big show Sunday, August 28, when it all goes down live at 9 p.m. at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

"I have a really big announcement," the New York native told Sway, the same night her "Yoü and I" video made its television debut. "But I thought as usual, instead of me announcing it, I'd let the Little Monsters do it for me."

Gaga Gives the Real Story Behind the "Yoü and I" video.

Gaga is nominated for four VMAs, including Best Female Video and Best Video With a Message for "Born This Way," as well as Best Art Direction and Best Choreography for "Judas."

"It means the world to me," Gaga said of opening the 2011 VMAs. "I just feel really blessed every day. I have the most amazing fans."

Lady Gaga first made VMA history back in 2009, when she appeared on the red carpet at Radio City Music Hall with Kermit the Frog as her date. That year, when she wasn't bleeding onstage during her "Paparazzi" performance, she was winning Moonmen for Best New Artist, Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects.

At the 2010 VMAs, Gaga didn't perform, but she did reveal her Born This Way album title and a few lines from the title track, taking the stage in a headline-making meat dress. She also arrived at the show in a voluminous Alexander McQueen ball gown while protesting the now-defunct "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Gaga took home eight Moonmen that night, including Video of the Year for "Bad Romance."

In 2011, Gaga will certainly have fans talking again as she sets the tone for the entire show.

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for your favorites in the general categories by visiting VMA.MTV.com.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Sean Kingston was seriously injured in a headline-making jet-ski accident. In the months since the crash, the "Beautiful Girls" singer has been recovering in Miami, where he lives and where the accident took place. He's been getting help from pals like "Eenie Meenie" collaborator Justin Bieber, who said the recovering singer is doing much better.

"His spirits are a lot higher," Bieber explained to MTV News in an interview that will air tonight (August 2) on "MTV First: Sean Kingston." "He still has to have people around him to make sure he's doing alright, but his spirits are high, and he's doing well."

Bieber also talked about his recent visit to Kingston's home in Miami. "I was just down in Miami," he said. "We were just hanging out at his house, kicking it, driving around Miami and whatnot. It was a lot of fun. I got to relax and take time off."

During "MTV First: Sean Kingston," the chart-topping artist will talk about his recovery from the near-fatal accident and his plans to get back in the recording studio. The special is set to air tonight (August 2) at 7:57 p.m. ET on MTV, then continue for 30 minutes on MTV.com.
