Ed Helms "SNL" Hosting Efforts Recap

Making his debut appearance on the long-running sketch comedy show, Ed Helms was the host of the just-aired May 14th episode of "Saturday Night Live".

With Paul Simon nabbed as the musical guest, the Helms spearheaded show was received with a fair amount of criticism - largely due to the fact that the "Office" actor had a more limited role in the night's sketches than was expected.

Among the highlights, Helms opened things up with The Wolf Blitzer Cold Open during which he stripped down to a star-spangled unitard while putting his baton-twirling skills on full display.

One of the more popular bits was a live-action version of ?Ambiguously Gay Duo? featuring Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, and Helms.

Meanwhile, the show drew to an end with a skit filled with one-line jokes titled ?One Take Tony? along with Helms taking on his lone starring part as an anonymous Republican candidate featured in a political ad campaign.

For those less than thrilled with the latest "SNL," there's plenty to look forward to on next weekend's season finale - as Justin Timberlake will be taking over hosting duties with teh always-interesting Lady Gaga booked as the musical guest.

Usher To Donate Gadhafi Money To Charity

'I will be donating all of my personal proceeds...to various human rights organizations,' singer says of concert linked to Libyan dictator.

R&B superstar Usher announced Friday (March 4) that he was donating to various charities proceeds from appearing at a private event at St. Barts linked to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to a statement made to the Associated Press.

The Grammy award winner's renouncement comes after similar announcements from singers Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, and Beyoncé, all of whom were revealed to have performed at private concerts linked to the Middle Eastern leader, who has faced open revolt and major political uprisings since February.

"I am sincerely troubled to learn about the circumstances surrounding the Nikki Beach St. Bart's event that took place on New Year's Eve 2009," Usher said of the concert, at which he appeared alongside Beyoncé but did not perform. "I will be donating all of my personal proceeds from that event to various human rights organizations."

Usher has already begun the process, having made a donation to Amnesty International, the AP reports. The exact size of the donation is not known.

The New Year's Eve gig was reportedly for Moammar's fourth son Muastassim, who an unnamed music industry source told MTV News has a history of throwing lavish parties "jammed" with supermodels.

Beyoncé, who sang at the event, donated all proceeds from her performance to the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, established in the wake of the Haitian earthquake.

"All monies paid to Beyoncé for her performance at a private party at Nikki Beach St. Barts on New Year's Eve 2009, including the commissions paid to her booking agency, were donated to the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti over a year ago," the "Halo" singer's publicist said in a statement to The Huffington Post. "Once it became known that the third-party promoter was linked to the Qaddafi family, the decision was made to put that payment to a good cause."

Singer Nelly Furtado tweeted February 28 that she plans to make similar amends.

"In 2007, I received 1million$ from the Gadhafi clan to perform a 45 min. show for guests at a hotel in Italy," she tweeted. "I am going to donate the $."

The leader of Libya since a successful military coup in 1969, Gadhafi has reportedly lost control of much of his country as a result of widespread uprisings. The United Nations voted unanimously to refer the dictator to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

Alcohol Claims Lead to CPS Visit For Mariah

Child Protective Services apparently made a visit this week to the hospital where Mariah Carey is recovering from giving birth to twins, but it appears the whole thing was a misunderstanding. Perhaps the worst way to start off your new journey as a mother is by being questioned by child welfare investigators. Sadly, that?s exactly how Mariah began her career as a new mom, thanks to a few calls the agency received claiming that there could be drug and alcohol use at the hospital. Nick appeared on CNN to clear it up, saying that a nurse actually suggested to Mariah that she could drink Guinness to help with breast-feeding. He said that the whole thing could have been a sting-style set-up, or just a matter of someone misinterpreting what actually happened. TMZ has the rest of the story. On Tuesday, fans immediately became excited by the news that Justin Bieber and Chris Brown have plans to shoot a video for Brown's F.A.M.E. track "Next 2 You." Luckily, that same day, MTV News had the pleasure of speaking with the video's director, Colin Tilley, who shared a bit about the clip.

"Tomorrow, I'm shooting New Boyz and Chris Brown ... then Justin Bieber and Chris Brown, together," he teased. "I can't tell you anything about that yet, but it's going to happen. It's gonna be big. It's gonna be big. I can't say anything else."

Tilley had more to say about working with Brown on his eye-popping video for "Look at Me Now." "I remember when we first got the song and Chris sent it to us: It was the first time I had heard the song, and it was so crazy to me," Tilley recalled. "Before we do every video, I always talk to Chris to kind of feel where he's going with the song and just where his motivation was with the song, and he actually sent me this one YouTube link ... It was this little '80s clip of these hip-hop dancers dancing.

"I would play it to the actual song, and at one point of the song, there were all these dancers dancing on these street elements like benches and tables and stuff like that," he continued. "From there, it just started to evolve from street elements and this whole underground vibe to just getting crazier and crazier. I wanted to make sure it was really exciting."

Visually, the video never stops, thanks to a saturated color palette, cameos from Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes (who are featured on the track), funky clothes and funkier dancing.

"Chris is just always down to make something different, so that was really it ... the mask came about from Diplo and the cage, and it all started to evolve to this awesome video," Tilley added.

Alessandra Ambrosio & Anja Louise: Brentwood Beauties

Transitioning from work mode to family time, Alessandra Ambrosio brought an end to the week by spending a little quality time with daughter Anja Louise in Brentwood, CA on Friday (May 13).

The Victoria's Secret beauty and her little angel were accompanied by a helping hand as the trio went grocery shopping at the local Whole Foods.

Building up quite the appetite, Miss Ambrosio was later spotted walking hand-in-hand with her growing girl as they stopped by a local eatery to fill up on a tasty lunch.

The mother/daughter outing comes after a busy week for Alessandra, as she joined her fellow Victoria's Secret Bombshells for multiple events tied to the lingerie brand's "What Is Sexy?" launch.
