Academy Award-nominee Amy Adams is about to reach new heights, as she has been cast as Lois Lane in the new Superman movie.
"There was a big, giant search for Lois," director Zach Snyder told the LA Times Sunday. "It was obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."
Adams, 36, will play opposite Tudors star Henry Cavill, who was cast as the new Man of Steel in the film that hits theaters in 2012.
Though Snyder wouldn't give too much away about the depth of Adams' role, he did say that he plans to mold the characters of the remake and make them relatable in today's world.
"It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him relevant and empathetic to today's audience," said Snyder. "That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him."
