It?s Tradition Over Technology With ?The King?s Speech? Winning Best Picture

Hollywood found a new group of kings lording over movies on Monday, the makers of Oscar winner “The King’s Speech,” whose heartwarming tale triumphed over a flashy story of new technology in “The Social Network.” “King’s Speech” claimed four Oscars — best film, actor for Colin Firth, director and screenplay — with a traditional story [...]

Amy Adams: My Daughter Makes My Oscar Nomination Special

Amy Adams: My Daughter Makes My Oscar Nomination Special

Amy Adams scored her first best supporting actress Oscar nomination in 2005 for the indie dramedy Junebug, then another in 2008 for her acclaimed performance opposite Meryl Streep in Doubt... and she'll once again compete for that prize at Feb. 27's Academy Awards, this time for her turn as a fiery Boston bartender in The Fighter. But for Adams, the novelty of an Oscar nod has far from worn off. In fact, the 36-year-old actress insists that there's something -- or rather someone -- making this year's nomination just a bit more meaningful than the previous two: Adams' 9-month-old daughter Aviana.

"(This year's nomination is) special because I have a daughter now, and she can see Mommy and all of that," the actress tells Entertainment Tonight. And see mommy she will, as Adams plans to spend all day Sunday getting in some quality time with Aviana. "I'm going to hang out with little girl this time around," she says of her pre-Oscars plans.

Adams' movie The Fighter is nominated for seven awards on the night, including best picture, best director (David O. Russell) and best supporting actor (Christian Bale). Adams will also face off against costar Melissa Leo for the supporting actress statuette. And although many Oscar predictions are calling for Leo to snag the victory in that category, Aviana sure would be proud if Mommy won her first Oscar.

'American Idol' Top 24 Revealed!

Wednesday night's American Idol ended with a Jennifer Lopez meltdown, when fan favorite Chris Medina was sent home. But Thursday night, the diva put her game face on and, with the help of Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, narrowed the remaining Idol contestants down to the top 24.

The 12 guys and 12 girls chosen to move on didn't get their good news from the judges until they'd endured a bit of suspense-building teasing. "You're mean," contestant Laina Alaina joked after she finally got the confirmation she was one of the 12 females whose Idol dreams were still intact.

Meanwhile, Jessica Cunningham, who has auditioned for the show seven times, was rejected on the night of her 25th birthday. She jokingly flipped off the camera after saying her goodbye, telling the judges: "I love ya, but you ruined my birthday."

Justin Bieber turns 17 on March 1, and he's revealing what his plans are for the big day.

"I only have, like, four days, so I'm just going to relax, because I start my world tour starting on [March 4] -- so just going to mentally prepare and just relax," Justin told "Entertainment Tonight." "No birthday bash. ... Hopefully my grandparents will be out here and I'll be able to spend time, a little bit, with them. My grandma makes the best cheesecake -- cherry cheesecake. She made that for my 13th birthday."

Of course, Bieber's birthday isn't the only thing making headlines these days. His new haircut has also been causing quite the hoopla, but Bieber seems to be brushing it off. "I just wanted to [cut my hair], that's all. Not really a big reason; I just woke up and said, 'I don't want this anymore,' so I just cut it," he said. "It's not really about that. You know, the fans really liked it, but they'll like me no matter what, because I think it's about the music. I'm really excited to see what the fans overseas think and take it day by day."

Bieber will re-release his 3-D flick "Never Say Never" this weekend. "It's 40 minutes of extra footage, so it's basically like a new movie," he says. "It's real exciting, because it shows me and my friends more and it shows a different part of the concert, so it's going to be great. Hopefully all the fans will go back and watch it."

Next week, in addition to his birthday, Bieber will also kick off his European tour. "I'm excited to see what [Willow Smith] brings to the table," he said. "We start on March 4, so she's really excited, and she told me that she can't wait -- and she's adorable -- so I can't wait.

"I have such great people around me and such good family," he added. "I just want to be a good role model to people, and to be able to just make good music. ... I'm going to make mistakes, but it's about learning from them and becoming better. ... My movie shows that anything is possible and dreams do come true. ... Remember to always stay humble and always be gracious and anything can happen."

VIDEO: Jenna Fischer: I'd Be Insane to Let My Husband Cheat on Me

In her new comedy Hall Pass (which hits theaters Feb. 25), Jenna Fischer's character gives her husband (Owen Wilson) one week off from marriage to sow his wild oats (a.k.a. have sex with other women). But if you're considering trying this at home, Fischer wants you to know that you might be crazy.

"What sane woman would actually do this in real life?" the actress, 36, asks iVillage. "It's a great idea for a movie. It's a bad idea for your life."

Plus, it seems like the last thing Fischer and husband Lee Kirk (who tied the knot in 2010) need is time off. She gushed to iVillage about their happy relationship, saying when you meet the right guy, "you just know."

Watch our exclusive video interview (above) to find out why the actress is "in denial" about her TV boss Steve Carell leaving The Office, and why she thinks it's easy to fall in love with the wrong people.
