'American Idol' Recap: More About the War & The Bloody Changes

Another taste. I hate that it's on Thursdays now, I really do. That's supposed to be my time with Meredith Grey and Alicia Florick and whatever old lady shows I actually watch. A nice Pinot. And I can't understand how they think in the autumn of its life they could possibly... Look, Brett Loewenstern!

Retracted. Also, Casey Abrams, and that girl whose parents were younger than her, that little chubby kid, the guy that had wife problems or fiancée problems, that little Froggy Aiken kid... That's nice of them to remind us why we're here. Why six episodes is not enough and eight is just right.

MTV Won't Air Lauren Conrad Reality Show

MTV Won't Air Lauren Conrad Reality Show

Turns out the third time is not the charm for Lauren Conrad.

Last fall, MTV announced that it would be giving the breakout star of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills her third reality show, with this one focusing on LC's budding fashion line. But now, Entertainment Weekly has learned that MTV will not air the series.

"We decided not to go ahead with the show," MTV's head of programming David Janollari tells EW. "[Conrad] did do a pilot. There were talks about whether we could somehow manage to put together a special based on that footage but that's also a big question mark based on her interest in that and the finances."

Unlike Conrad's two previous forays into reality TV, which focused on her personal relationships, the new show was to be more of a documentary chronicling her work in the fashion world.

So why isn't MTV airing the show? "It was a great attempt but it just didn't feel like a perfect fit for us now," says Janollari.

Conrad, who recently turned 25 (and may or may not be engaged), has her own thoughts on the matter. In a statement released to Entertainment Weekly, she says: "We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too highbrow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn't feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it."

Too highbrow, huh? Consider our interest piqued. We certainly hope MTV scrapes together that special Janollari mentioned so we can get a glimpse at the show that could have been.

While Conrad's comments hint that she's more than a bit disappointed that MTV passed on the show, LC fans shouldn't start bemoaning the demise of the MTV-Lauren Conrad partnership just yet. "We love her!" insists Janollari. "We would love her on our network!" So long as she keeps things lowbrow, of course.

Are you shocked that MTV would pass on a Lauren Conrad reality series for being too highbrow? Chime in below!

Looks like Shawty Mane is back! Justin Bieber contributed to a new Sean Kingston song, on which he both sings and raps. The track is called "Won't Stop" off Kingston's new mixtape King of Kingz, which also features B.o.B, Soulja Boy Tell'em, Flo Rida and Akon.

"I see them coming/ They try to bring me down/ But I won't stop/ They want me in the ground/ But I won't stop/ 'Til I'm dead, I won't stop," Bieber sings on the track.

Then he raps, "Yeah they talk, yeah they talk/ They don't walk the walk I walk/ I won't stop 'til I drop, until then I reach the top/ I'mma walk to where I need to be, walk the path of destiny/ Definitely been neglected but God is always testing me/ Rest in peace to all the men that died who were protecting me/ People in this world just want to let it be/ John Lennon made it different/ Don't just let it be, set it free."

Kingston and Bieber's previous effort was the lighthearted romp "Eenie Meenie" in 2010. On the track, Kingston and Bieber sing about a heartbreaker. A video for the track came out in April of last year.

"I met Justin about two years ago, before he was the teenage phenom that he is now. I don't really have that same chemistry with some celebrities. God just made it happen," Kingston said back then.

In September, Kingston shared with MTV News that he and Bieber had been working on a mixtape together and that Bieber would be rapping on it. "[He's] pretty tight, nice for someone who doesn't do it that much," Kingston said of the singer's rhyming skills.

Last October, Bieber released a video displaying his rap skills under the moniker Shawty Mane. "You know Justin Bieber is not a rapper, and it would just be lame if I came out rapping," Bieber explained to MTV News. "It's lame anyway because I'm a pop singer, but I thought it was funny. I just did it as a joke. It wasn't like anything serious."

What do you think of Bieber's appearance on Sean Kingston's "Won't Stop"? Tell us in the comments.
