After a whirlwind year of making friends in the music industry, Justin Bieber is intent on pulling out all the stops for his sophomore album. Not only has the 16-year-old singer recently collaborated with Rascal Flatts, he's also talking about linking up with some hip-hop heavyweights including Kanye West, Drake and Chris Brown for future collaborations, according to manager Scooter Braun.
Bieber's manager took to a chat room Tuesday to speak to the pop star's legion of Beliebers about his new music, speculation about a romance with Selena Gomez and the celebrity lineup for Bieber's "Never Say Never" movie.
"Yes, Justin is working on new music," Braun teased after playing a clip of a new Bieber song, which he said may drop on Valentine's Day. "He's been talking to Drake about new music. [Bieber] and Kanye had a call today about a song they're trying to work on together. Kanye wants to produce a bunch of new songs for the new album. He's talked with Rascal Flatts. Him and Chris Brown have been sending stuff back and forth to each other."
And you couldn't have a fan chat without fans inquiring about Bieber's reported romance with Disney starlet Selena Gomez. Braun kept tight-lipped on the issue by not mentioning names, but insisted that the duo are no more than friends. "Everyone says I'm ignoring a certain issue that you all want to know about," he admitted.
"Everybody wants to know something. Here's what I'm going to tell you. This kid travels a lot and I always told him, I was always like, 'You shouldn't be in a relationship unless you can give someone everything.' I know that him and the person you're asking about are really close friends and have been for awhile. As far as I know, that's what they are."
As his manager and friend, Braun did confess that he's told Justin to "stop answering the single question" as it'll lead to a lack of a private life in the future.
Whether or not the Biebs is in a relationship, the teen sensation is adamantly focused on his rising career. The pop star's next big project is his Jon Chu 3-D documentary "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," which hits theaters on February 11. Braun revealed that the film will feature guest appearances by Sean Kingston, Usher, Jayden Smith, Boyz II Men, Miley Cyrus, Kobe Bryant, Drake, Ludacris, Johnny Depp, David Beckham, Will Smith and Snoop Dogg.

Guest-starring on CBS's How I Met Your Mother (Mondays, 8 p.m. ET) is practically a pop star rite of passage these days. So it's not too surprising to hear that Katy Perry is the next one scheduled to play a potential love interest for Ted (Josh Radnor) later this season. Like Britney Spears, Mandy Moore and Carrie Underwood before her, she could potentially be "The Mother" that the title refers to. Potentially, but far from likely.
Perry hasn't done much acting, but boy, did she (and her breasts) garner attention last fall on Sesame Street and Saturday Night Live. Click here and here if your memory needs refreshing. (Or if you'd just like a good laugh.)
How will Perry fare at scripted TV? If she's anything like her musically inclined predecessors, she'll do just fine. Spears was funny as a ditzy, clingy secretary who mooned over Ted (and later Barney). The squeaky clean Moore ably pulled off her role as a trashy temptress. And Underwood was totally believable as every guy's dream girl. (Okay, this couldn't have been much of a stretch for her. But the point stands.)
Perry's playing Zooey's (Jennifer Morrison) attractive but naïve cousin. Given her track record for skimpy outfits on TV, she'll have Ted wrapped around her…uh, finger, in no time.
How do you think Perry will do in her first foray into scripted TV? Chime in below!
