Usher's club-rattling jam "OMG" may "kill it every night" according to tourmate Miguel, but when the Atlanta crooner hit Madison Square Garden earlier this week, he was almost taken out by a clumsy fan.

When the singer touched down in New York on Monday, he indulged a super amped fan's fantasy by pulling her onstage for an intimate flirty serenade of "Trading Places." As Usher and the concertgoer got cozy on a recliner, she swiveled around to face the crooner — knocking him squarely in his mug with her foot. She began apologizing profusely as Usher briefly paused to collect himself. But the superstar took the strike in stride, quipping, "We play rough in the bed. We kick each other in the face and all type of good stuff."

Although Usher brushed off the blow, the moment did make an impression on him.

"In all my years, this is one of the most interesting experiences. I got a kick out of it!" he told Us Weekly. The singer assured fans that the knock wasn't that bad. "It looked worse than it actually was. My audience and I got a good laugh."

As for the fan, the "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" star maintained everything is all good on that front too. "Wherever you are baby, don't feel bad," Usher said. "No hard feelings."

As Miguel has noted, Usher isn't one dwell on drama, whether it's cranking out another hit album or weathering an unexpected hit from a fan.

"He's such a tremendous example of perseverance and determination," Miguel recently told MTV News. "I was there throughout this album, so I've seen the adversity that he's had to overcome perception-wise."

What do you think of Usher's response to getting knocked in the head by a fan? Tell us in the comments!

MTV News has been counting down the top five men and women who've had the biggest 2010, honoring the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake, Justin Bieber and Eminem on the men's side, and on the ladies' side Nicki Minaj, Snooki, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry made the cut. Then on Friday (December 17), we announced the prestigious #1s: Lady Gaga and Kanye West.

But we know you don't just want to take our word for it, so we asked some of your favorite celebrities who they thought the man and woman of 2010 were.

Woman of 2010

Katy Perry (our #2) got a few votes, and the Situation went for Taylor Swift (our #3). Michael Bublé chose Pink; while Pauly D said the year was all about Kim Kardashian.

NKOTB's Joey McIntyre got all political and suggested, "Hillary Clinton, man. She's in a load of trouble with all those leaks."

Jay Sean made a case for his pal Nicki Minaj (our pick for #5), saying, "I think it had to be Nicki's year. She had a great, great year."

But in the end most agreed that Gaga ruled 2010.

"Woman would have to be Lady Gaga," Taio Cruz said. "I'm sure that's a unanimous decision."

Mark Hoppus added, "Lady Gaga just cause you can't stop talking about her."

Man of 2010

Mark Hoppus also agreed with our pick for Man of the Year, showing some love for Kanye West. But our unofficial celebrity poll remained inconclusive in this category. Paramore's Hayley Williams chose Conan O'Brien. Drake and Eminem got a couple of co-signs, as did Justin Bieber, Russell Brand.

"I'd probably vote for myself," B.o.B not-so-humbly shared. "Bob!"

Usher (whose "OMG" is MTV News' #1 Song of the Year) got some love from Nelly and Jesse McCartney, who shared, "Because there were a lot of redemptive qualities to this album."

But leave it to Rosie O'Donnell to make a case for the one and only Stefani Germanotta as Man of the Year. "Lady Gaga," she said. "Yes, indeed and she'll kick your ass if you say she doesn't deserve it [and] rightly so."

Head over to the Newsroom blog to vote in our Man and Woman of the Year polls, and give us your write-in votes in the comments!
