Just after news hit that Justin Bieber had been involved in a minor car accident, the teen pop star, his manager and his producer began releasing details about his forthcoming Christmas album, including a possible Taylor Swift collaboration.

In a Twitter conversation with his manager, Scooter Braun, the pair revealed more info about the album, even sharing that it won't contain the holiday standards fans might expect. "This Christmas album is amazing. Might be the best album yet," Scooter Braun wrote on the social networking site. "All originals ... soon 2 b classics. every1 i play it 4 is blown away. #excited."

The 17-year-old superstar then shared, "@scooterbraun yeah we are going hard for Christmas!! #mistletoe." He later revealed that he had been recording tracks with some of his pals. "Had a great studio session with my big bro @seankingston and the talented @jonathanrotem #GOODMUSIC."

Producer Kuk Harrell (Rihanna, Katy Perry) has also been tweeting about hitting the studio with the singer and revealed another collaboration. "Wow!! Got to see @justinbieber & @taylorswift13 write a song together last night!!" he shared last week. "SMASH!!!! SMASH!!! SMASH!!! Let's do it again y'all!!!" Bieber hit the stage with Swift during one of her shows in Los Angeles last week.

Perhaps as a hint of what is to come, Bieber also retweeted a message from Braun in which Braun said, "Goin 2 bed listening 2 this new xmas album bieber is coming with. really #classic. original xmas tunes that r legit hit records. #greatmusic."

Bieber has been working hard on new music, both holiday-themed and other. When MTV News caught up with him earlier this summer, he wanted his fans to know that anything is possible on his next album. "[I'm] writing about how I feel and producing. I've been producing on my laptop and on my computer," he said. "I've been really into it and, hopefully, this next album will be huge."

He added, "I've done a lot on my acoustic guitar, so it's gonna have that vibe," he explained. "I'm not gonna really limit myself. I think music is music, and genre — I mean, I know there's country music, there's rock music, but my music is different. My voice is not meant for any style. I just want to make music."

Lady Gaga Was 'Fearless' As Jo Calderone At VMAs

VMA executive producer says Gaga's commitment to her character raises the bar for future performers.

One of the breakout stars of the 2011 Video Music Awards was Jo Calderone, the smoke-spouting, slightly stained mechanic who stormed the big show to deliver a lengthy monologue about his former love Lady Gaga, and then launched into an epic performance of her current hit, "Yoü and I."

And while you may think that Calderone was just Gaga playing dress up, well, you'd be wrong. Because for all intents and purposes, Gaga became Calderone ... diving deep into the character during, after and, rather surprisingly, before the show.

"We had talked to her about the creative [for the performance] a few weeks before the show. We had a call with her, and it became clear that she's going to be Jo," VMA Executive Producer Dave Sirulnick explained.

Why did Lady Gaga go to the VMAs as Jo Calderone?

"She showed up as Jo, rehearsed as Jo ... if you said 'Gaga,' she wouldn't respond. After rehearsals, she comes over, she says to me, 'It's nice to meet you,' and I say to her, 'I know your friend Gaga,' and she says, 'That Gaga, what a bitch!' " Sirulnick recalled. "She did not break character once. She walks in backstage and, in front of a whole bunch of people, went into the men's room. Later, we had all the Young the Giant fans lined up waiting for the band to rehearse their performance, and Jo was walking out of the building to her dressing room and someone yelled 'It's Gaga!' But she didn't respond, just kept on walking, until finally someone yelled, 'Hey, Jo!' and then she turned and waved."

So given all that, it wasn't exactly shocking that the commitment to character continued long after Gaga — er, Calderone — had finished the show-opening performance of "Yoü and I." Jo, of course, not only returned to the stage to help pay tribute to (and kiss) Britney Spears, she also accepted the Best Female Video Moonman for "Born This Way" with an impassioned speech.

What does the LGBT community think of Lady Gaga's transgender act?

But even when she wasn't in the spotlight, Gaga didn't break ... not even for a second.

"Over the years, lots of people have done lots of things, lots of people have worn lots of things, but no one has been that committed, that in character," Sirulnick laughed. "She's smoking in the building, she was holding court in the crowd, you know, Kanye, Katy, Adele, Tony Bennett, they loved it. They respected her commitment and her level of artistry."

And, of course, they couldn't help but be inspired by it too. Because by never wavering, by putting it all out there as Jo Calderone, Gaga raised the bar for her fellow VMA performers, too, and it was up to them to match the heights she achieved.

"For her to go out there and just be so into this character, it was fearless, and you saw a lot of that at the VMAs," Sirulnick said. "Chris Brown was fearless in the way he flew across the stage. Beyoncé was fearless in her amazing vocal performance and what she revealed. Jay and Kanye were fearless in saying 'Here we are, watch us.' Adele was fearless in her performance, doing it in one shot, saying 'I'm going to stand here and put it all on display.' "

Lady Gaga's Harper's Bazaar Cover Is 'A Big Deal'

Fashion photographers Inez & Vinoodh say stripped-down photo shows 'the old soul that she is.'

Lady Gaga appears barefaced on the latest cover of Harper's Bazaar. The cover is simply a close-up of her face: no makeup, wigs, masks or high-end couture. For a star who's frequently adorned elaborately, the simplicity of the look was so drastic that it made headlines.

Fans might be surprised to learn the cover shot was taken during a hectic video shoot in Nebraska, where Gaga was not only shooting her official "You and I" clip, but also several Inez & Vinoodh-directed fashion films.

The pair, who shot the Harper's cover, told MTV News the photo truly exposes Gaga as the person she is. "She's so beautiful in it. It's her emotion and her expression, and you can just see the old soul that she is, the pure happiness," Inez explained. "She's a very special human being that is all about giving. I think that's what's great with that cover: It's so out; it's so talking to the people. That's her most incredible quality: radiating that happiness that she has, and you really see it."

Over the course of her career, Gaga has had many extreme looks on the cover of countless magazines, and it seems that this stripped-down look was the only natural progression for her. The duo, who also shot her three-headed V Magazine cover, explained that this cover is "her purely; seeing her how she is inside."

So, how did the cover come to be? Inez explained, "I think it was Stephen Gan, the art director of Harper's Bazaar, that came to us and said, 'I would love to have a shoot with Gaga where she's really bare, where it's really her,' because he knows her very well; they're great friends. He feels the same way that we do: She is so beautiful, but because of all the stuff around, you don't get the chance to see really the gorgeousness and the person inside in that part of her. For Harper's Bazaar, I think it's a big deal to have a black-and-white cover to begin with, and it's great."

It was an idea that Gaga jumped on quite enthusiastically. "She's at a point in life too where she's very confident and ... everything's going so well and enjoying so much, it's really the right timing too to bare herself like that," the pair added.

So what are the details behind their wedding? Smart and Oosterhouse said their ‘I do’s’ in front of 215 guests. She wore a Carolina Herrera gown, while her bridesmaids, eight in total, wore navy dresses by Ann Taylor. Don’t they seem so down to earth? I love that this couple kept their wedding real and not the media circus that surrounded the Kardashian wedding. The hunky carpenter and the Just Friends actress met back in November of 2010, appropriately enough at an eco-friendly charity event. The two are both known to be quite green — a hybrid is her vehicle of choice and he is the [...]
